Hi, I just found your podcast today; excellent! So, here's me: 49 year old musician taking up the horn. My only previous horn experience was a summer in middle school (six weeks of lessons and learning to play the Budweiser theme) and the brass classes music ed. students take in college.
I've been an orchestral percussionist for years, and play some piano. Right now I'm playing on a borrowed Olds double with a Marcinkiewicz S7 mouthpiece. If I take a long-term interest in it, I'll eventually need a horn of my own.
Current areas of interest: Audio examples of horn tone illustrating schools of thought and manufacture; Picking out books, Most efficient practice, particularly at early levels. Picking an instrument.; Musician beginners.
Thanks for doing this! I've listened to the intro podcast and look forward to the others.
